Wei Li is a second year PhD Candidate at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) co-advised by Prof. Shawn Blanton and Prof. Jose Moura. Prior to joining CMU, he has been with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) for his MPhil title under the supervision of Prof. Bei Yu. He received his bachelor degree in ELITE stream, CSE department from Chung Chi College, CUHK in Nov, 2018.

During his short research career, he was luckily collaborated with Prof. Michael R. Lyu (CUHK), Prof. Yuqun Zhang (SUSTech), Prof. Lingming Zhang (UIUC), Prof. Yibo Lin (PKU), and Prof. David Z. Pan (UT Austin)(in chronological order). With the guidance of these distinguished scholars, he has received three best-paper awards from the software engineering field (ISSTA, 2019), the Artificial Intelligence field (ICTAI, 2019), and the Electronics Design Automation field (ASP-DAC, 2021).

His research interest is ML (especially geometric DL) in the chip design and manufacturing. He is now learning graph signal processing, and thinking about its application in the chip design.

Besides research, he is an ardent supporter of LeBron James (LET'S GO LAKERS We are the champion!). He also enjoys reading, especially historical readings (Those things in the Ming Dynasty) and novels (The Three-Body Problem, Ordinary World). The person he wants to be the most is Choi Taek.
